Removing the coil springs from the front shocks

Removing the springs from the front shock / strut assembly is very easy with an impact

Set the strut assembly on the ground, use a 17mm deep socket on your impact. Place your foot on the spring and run the nut off.

Sometimes, if the nut is rusted on the end of the shaft use a penetrating oil (like PB Blaster) to soak the nut. Then  you will need to use a 17mm wrench with an 8mm wrench to break it loose.
